Babe’s Bears is a collection of traditional teddy bears, bunnies and cats
with hand stitched personalities that give each one a unique look of his own. They
are made of mohair with glass eyes. Each one is fully articulated with
5 hardboard and cotter pin joints.
Each new design begins with an idea of how a teddy ought to look. Should
he look up, or down? Is his tummy full of honey? Should he have a
wide-eyed look, or a snout that’s bound to get
him into trouble?
No matter how many bears are made of the same design, each one is a one of a
kind. From color and fullness of the fur to the size and placement of the
eyes, every change has an affect on the final outcome.
When I was a child, my Dad called me “Janie Babe.” Teddy bears are
all about sweet memories of simpler times, days of comfort, cuddling, and childhood
joy. That’s why I design my bears with the nostalgic look and feel
we all remember. Pamper the child in you, with Janie Babe’s Bears!
